Our People

Henry Weston Managing Director

Photograph of Henry Weston

Henry set up Communikator Publishing with co-director Anna Westermann in 1999. He holds the various positions of sales director, paparazzi photographer and business visionary, depending on his mood. Henry has many unique talents. His phone conversations are both extremely long and loud - his current record stands at 4:05 hours and 82 decibels. His dress sense is best described as eccentric and never fails to amaze. He can also type at the speed of light, although the resulting spelling errors usually render his emails unintelligible.

Anna is a media bod. She started out in regional newspapers, moved on to the Daily Mirror and is now co-director of Communikator Publishing. She also makes sure the team is happy and remembers important things like birthdays and biscuits. Anna is a compulsive proofreader and can spot a typo at thirty paces. She describes herself as a perfectionist; others say she is annoyingly picky and far too free with the red marker.

Kate Burton Managing Editor

With 14 years of publishing experience, Kate has worked as an Editor across numerous contract publishing and trade titles. Throughout this time she's also been spotted donning wigs for the News Of The World to see whether gentleman prefer blondes, brunettes or red-heads, interviewing contestants from America's Next Top Model and appearing on various TV shows such as The Weakest Link (she wasn't quite the weakest!). Kate heads up the publishing side of the company, overseeing everything to do with editorial, design and print.

Andy Becker Art Director

Andy brings a wealth of experience as an archaeologist, birdwatcher, football coach and occasional dog walker. As a creative Art Director he has worked on various consumer magazines including Woman's Journal, Good Housekeeping and Country Life and on the launches of You Magazine and OK!, as well as directing top photographers, models and celebrities. Andy's experience encompasses corporate identity, contract publishing and direct mail, where he learned to be cool and calm in the endless daily crisis. A designer who originally travelled south on missionary work, he was seduced by the bright lights, fast cars and endless parties to be found in London and simply stayed.

Matt Gregory Designer

Communikator were lucky to snap up the dynamic Matt, whose favourite magazines include Huck and Creative Review. Graduating from Southampton Solent University back in 2008 he's already dazzled the media world with his work at Publicis and Creative Review and now with us he continues to impress. Living by the sea, he's a sports addict, LOVES food (especially sausages) and has a quirky sense of humour – he bought Henry nipple tassles for Christmas!

Jenny Bailey Senior Staff Writer

Jenny joined Communikator from the advertising gurus of M&C Saatchi. A master of organisation, sharp-witted Jenny's bright and breezy persona brings a ray of sunshine each day to the Communikator office. Obsessed with spaghetti bolognaise, the headline-writing genius spends her weekends watching the rugby, dressing up as Kelly McGillis in Top Gun and looking forward to Monday mornings. Honestly, she really does.

Sara Standing Staff Writer

Hailing from Sussex, the genteel Sara graduated with a 2:1 Magazine Jounalism Degree from Southampton Solent University in 2009, where she was Production Editor of the Glade Festival programme. Half French, she loves beautiful scarves, chicken Korma, Dan Brown books, Page Turn Interactive (!) and is a self-claimed expert at tennis on the Nintendo Wii. We have yet to challenge her...

Cathy O'Farrell Finance Administrator

Photograph of Cathy O'Farrell

Cathy is returning to the workforce after being a 'home engineer' for the last 11 years. Her previous roles have been in the Marketing and Advertising sector. Cathy and her family returned to England after living in the windy city - Chicago - for two years. She adores the new addition to her family - Millie, the Jack Russell puppy. Her secret pleasures are cooking, gardening and crafts. Cathy chases invoices and keeps Communikator on track with all things financial. The Communikator team really benefit from her ability to stay calm in stressful situations with a cup of tea in hand. She is truly baffled by the speed at which the team consumes biscuits on a weekly basis.

Shirley Jamieson Accounts Controller

Shirley is the lady who makes sure we pay our invoices on time. Her shelves are creaking with the weight of perfectly filed paperwork and her spreadsheets are true numerical masterpieces. Currently challenging Henry for the title of World's Longest Phone Call, she has the ability to talk at length on any subject. Shirley likes things to be done on time, no excuses. Woe betide the work experience student who forgets to frank the mail. But beneath the stern facade, Shirley is as fluffy as they come.

Bobby Company Dog

Bobby is essentially useless. He sleeps, eats and demands walks at inconvenient moments. However, he does provide a soothing presence on difficult deadlines.
